  New online site to help business tackle identity fraud
  An on-line training aid to help organisations protect themselves against identity fraudsters is being launched on Wednesday 13 April at the CIFAS ‘Partnerships to Defeat Financial Crime’ conference by CIFAS Chairman, Ken Cherrett. Crimes facilitated by identity fraud cost the UK more than £1.3 billion each year.

  UK card fraud losses reach £504.8m
  “According to figures released today (8 March) by APACS, the UK payments association, UK card fraud losses totalled £504.8m in 2004, up by 20% compared to 2003 (£420.4m*). The rise is attributed to fraudsters increasing their illegal activity before the security benefits of chip and PIN are fully realised.”
